| Working on your own can be difficult, but most franchise agreements are very expensive, and if pupils are provided then this is often an additional cost. |

| So, if you would like help running your business, but the franchise concept doesn't appeal to you, then you should consider becoming part of the drivewell team. |

| Our aim is to provide support and assistance, and most importantly share the burden of finding new pupils. We do not offer car deals, but costs are kept low and we help members to source their own pupils. Regular meetings are held to share ideas, and ensure that even though members are running their own businesses, they still feel part of a team. |

The idea was born during 2008, when two driving instructors in Milton Keynes were discussing the implications of the economic downturn over coffee. They hit upon the idea of forming a marketing group, a concept which has proved successful in other industries, provided that all members are dedicated to marketing the concept. Each member would pay a small fee into a central pot which would be used for marketing purposes, such as commissioning a website and paying for magazine advertising, with the resulting enquiries being shared around the group. Those two instructors officially launched the drivewell team in March 2009, with a third member joining in June. So far the results have been greatly encouraging in terms of the responses to the concept, and also the new business that has been generated. Despite this, no-one is complacent, and it is recognised by all that further progress is required. |
