drivewell are now able to offer the BTEC in Driving Science, a new qualification introduced with the simple aim of teaching people to be safer drivers, and so hopefully saving lives.

This course can be taken at the same time as your initial driving lessons, or at a later stage in order to build on the skills that you have already acquired. Certain stages of the course can only be completed by drivers holding a full licence, as for example driving on motorways is included.

The concept is based on delivering the goals for driver education (a pan European initiative aimed at improving the safety of young drivers) in a structured training course, and includes a compulsory post test module in order to gain the Edexcel BTEC award, which is the equivalent of a GCSE.

Full details about the qualification, and what is involved in gaining it, can be found on the a2om website. Please note that studying for this qualification does not provide exemptions from any of the DSA Tests, which still need to be passed in order to obtain a full driving licence.
