| The Driving Test - The Test Itself |

Driving lessons in Milton Keynes with drivewell will prepare you fully for the Test, to give you a better chance of passing at your first attempt. |

| |
- Many people make the mistake of booking their Practical Driving Test far too soon.
| |
- In our opinion it is a very fair test, and although the examiner recognises that you are not an expert, he does expect you to display a full understanding of safe driving procedures.
| |
- You are allowed up to 15 minor driving faults on your Test Sheet, but a single ‘serious or dangerous’ driving fault will cause a Test failure.
| |
- Our driving school vehicles are fully insured, and we make no additional charge for insurance for the Driving Test.
| |
- In preparation for the Practical Driving test, at drivewell we plot your progress at the end of every driving lesson using a marking sheet with up to 45 separate skills being assessed.
| |
- Practical Driving Test examiners are particularly strict with observation practice and skills. Incorrect or insufficient observation is the single most frequent reason for failing the Test. It is most important that your driving instructor is very vigilant in teaching this vital safety skill from day one. At drivewell this has developed into an obsession, and we are very proud of our success in this area.

Adrian preparing for the Pre-Test Questions
| |
| |
There are many little procedures we teach to ensure that every Test requirement is learned and understood.
| |
| |
Most learners are concerned about performing the manoeuvres, which are: |
| |
| |
- Bay Park (Reversing into a parking bay)
| |
- Turn in the road (formerly known as the three point turn)
| |
- Left Reverse (reversing round a corner whilst remaining parallel to the kerb)
| |
- Parallel Park (Reverse parking between two cars parallel to the kerb)
| |
| |
Any TWO manoeuvres will be selected, at random, by the Driving Test examiner (N.B. roughly 1 in 3 candidates are required to perform an emergency stop).
| |
| |
If you learn them in the order listed above, the skills learned in each manoeuvre are transferable to the next. Take your time, and move to the next manoeuvre only when you are completely confident in your ability. Learning this way will also reduce your anxiety. |
